Ravers are getting ready to rock from dusk until dawn as the tropical island of Samui hosts its first outdoor dance bash - the Songkran International Dance Music Festival - this Tuesday.
Lake View Dance Arena overlooking the reservoir is all prepped up to house up to 5,000 party animals and a long list of headline DJs who will be manning the deck for 12 hours straight. Topping the list is the UK's legendary dance DJ Judge Jules, who's jetting into Thailand for his second live show here. The witty joker ("Like toilet paper, we're on a roll!") and successful club and radio DJ is known for his old school dance and trance sets and spins regularly at top British nightclubs Godskitchen, Liquid and The Syndicate. He also has a summer residency in Ibiza.
Joining Jules is veteran trance figure Graham Gold, also from the UK, whose international residency at Club Culture has earned him a following among Thai clubbers. Others including electro house DJ Gary Gecko, Samui-based David Sambor, DJ A, Kris Oliver, Dunk The Funk, with a live performance by Spanish drummer Asambai and drum soloist Simon Solo.
There'll also be inflatable water pools, foam machines, cabaret shows, fun casino, lots of Thai and European food and a variety of drinks. For those who just want to have fun in the dry, VIP tickets are available. Travel and hotel packages can also be booked.
